Peter J. Monahan
Peter J. MonahanManaging Director
Peter has over sixteen years’ experience in the project management and design of road projects of all sizes and is a Fellow of Engineers Ireland. This experience includes traditional contract schemes and Design & Build/Public Private Partnership (PPP) schemes. Peter is also a qualified Road Safety Audit Team Leader with significant experience (in excess of 300 Road Safety Audits) of all Road Safety Audit stages on a variety of road, junction, development, bus corridor & temporary traffic management schemes and he has undertaken a number of Transport Accessibility Audits for proposed developments. Peter has also been responsible for producing Traffic Analysis & Assessments in support of the planning submissions for proposed developments.

Peter has successfully worked with many of Ireland’s Local Authorities, State Agencies, PPP Road Operators, leading Consulting Engineering firms as well as for many individuals. He has experience in all aspects of the road planning and road design process from inception to completion including Statutory Procedures, EIS, and Public Inquiry support and has given evidence at Oral Hearings on behalf of Clients.

Peter is the current Chairman of the Engineers Ireland Roads Transportation Society for the period 2011/2012, having held the position of Chairman for the period 2010/2011.

Aly Gleeson
Aly GleesonTechnical Director
Aly is a Chartered Engineer and Technical Director with over 16 years’ post graduate experience. Aly’s engineering background includes delivery of major international projects; multi-discipline design management; coordination of major projects through planning/environmental processes, local authority transport projects, and development infrastructure design.

Aly has held senior positions in both public and private sector organisations, and project leadership roles in Ireland, the UK and New Zealand, so has obtained significant exposure to international design and project teams.

Aly’s experience is supported by strong engineering qualifications, including a BSc (Hons) in Civil Engineering, and a 1st Class MEng (Hons) in Civil Engineering. Aly has also completed the 10-day Road Safety Audit Certificate of Competence course at University College Dublin (UCD), and has been approved by Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) as a RSA Team Leader.

Aly is an active Member of Engineers Ireland (MIEI), and was the Public Relations Officer for the Roads and Transportation Society in Engineers Ireland. Aly is also a Member of SoRSA.

David O'Brien
David O'BrienSenior Project Engineer
David is a Chartered Engineer with over six years’ experience in Highways and Transportation. David’s experience includes International research papers; national transportation manuals; International and nationwide transport projects and the delivery of local authority training programmes.

David has worked in both the public and private sector working on innovative solutions improving the quality and timescale of large projects on road and airport pavements.

David’s experience is supported by a strong set of engineering qualifications, including a BAI (Hons) in Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering at Trinity College Dublin, a BA in Mathematics and a Post Graduate diploma in Project Management at Trinity College Dublin. David has completed the TMS 3 day Road Safety audit course and has been approved by Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) as a RSA Team Member.

David is an active member of Engineers Ireland acting as Honorary Secretary of Engineers Ireland West Region over three terms.

Alan O’Reilly
Alan O’ReillyProject Engineer
Alan is a Project Engineer with PMCE, specialising in Traffic and Road Safety Engineering. Alan’s experience is complimented by a strong set of engineering qualifications, including a BAI (Hons) in Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering at Trinity College Dublin, a BA in Mathematics and most recently an MSc in Transport Engineering at Trinity College Dublin.

Alan has also completed the 10-day Road Safety Audit Certificate of Competence course at University College Dublin (UCD) and is now an NRA approved Road Safety Audit Team Member. Alan has recently also been approved as a Road Safety Audit Team Member in Qatar, which underlines his experience and growing reputation abroad.

Alan’s portfolio of work includes Road Safety Inspection Reports for the N30, N80 and N59, and work as an observer on a number of Road Safety Audits. Alan has also worked on Collision Analyses of the N25, and N59 Clifden to Maam Cross route, and has undertaken traffic counts and Traffic and Transport Assessments.

Alan is a Graduate Member of Engineers Ireland (MIEI).

Peter Dickson
Peter DicksonProject Engineer
Peter is a Project Engineer with PMCE specialising in Road Safety Engineering and Traffic Engineering. Peter is an approved Road Safety Audit Team member and has delivered multiple road safety audits in both Ireland and Qatar and has also played a significant role in the delivery of 5No. Road Safety Inspections on the N5, N52, N55, N59 and the N72. Peter has been involved in Highway Design and Transport and Traffic Assessments with PMCE, including design work on the N81, County Dublin.

Peter’s experience with PMCE is complemented by a First Class Honours Civil Engineering Degree at Sligo Institute of Technology. During his studies, Peter gained valuable experience with a large engineering consultancy, where he spent one year working on various aspects of highway design, contract documentation preparation, tender assessment and site supervision. Peter’s work focused on Regional Road Signage Schemes, Vehicle Restraint System Design and National Road Delineation Design.

Peter is a Member of Engineers Ireland, and regularly attends presentations and lectures to support his continued professional development.

Alison D’Arcy
Alison D’ArcyOffice Manager
Alison has over 25 years’ experience working in busy office environments, and has been key to PMCE’s smooth operational performance since joining in 2007. Since joining PMCE, Alison has swiftly transitioned into a senior management role, being responsible for recruitment, human resources, financial management and administration, making her an integral member of the team. Before joining PMCE, Alison was an estimator for a large multi-national company, and studied printing technology in Bolton Street, as well as secretarial studies. This experience and training has been critical to the role played by Alison in PMCE gaining its ISO 9001 accreditation in 2013, a role Alison continues as PMCE’s Quality Representative.
